pausing bedroom transformations due to Covid-19

As time passes and the public health crisis of COVID-19 continues, we have paused Designing Dreams bedrooms. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for us all, and we are continuously reevaluating the situation.

The children and families we serve are our priority, and we want to avoid putting anybody in harm’s way. We admire and appreciate how diligently our public health officials and health care workers are working every single day, and we encourage everybody to continue to follow their lead.

Help us help make families feel safe by wearing a mask, social distancing, and keeping gatherings to a minimum. We can all do our part!

“COVID19 has affected our family in many ways just like every other family. We know what it’s like to isolate ourselves and wear masks because of a weakened immune system due to chemo treatments. It can be difficult at times but knew we needed to protect Joelle. Joelle is now a cancer survivor and while it’s an amazing accomplishment, we don’t know how COVID19 would affect her, so masking and social distancing is very important to us.” Van, Joelle’s mother.

While we continue to navigate the current situation, we are adapting and will move forward finding new and creative ways to inspire hope and happiness in children’s lives.

Thank you to all of our donors and supporters who are helping us look toward a future of many more bedrooms for children with cancer. We can’t wait to get back to spending time with the happy, smiling Designing Dreams children as we transform their dream bedrooms!
