Marketing & Fundraising Committee Application

Designing Dreams Board of Advisors is a group of talented, passionate, young professionals committing their time and talents to inspiring hope and happiness in kids actively fighting cancer. 
About you:
You are a fun-loving, passionate, enthusiastic, mission-driven young professional looking to make a difference, build friendships, and contribute to our mission in a meaningful way. You are eager to bring your ideas, energy, (and favorite cocktail!) to a startup non-profit organization with a bright future. You have the time to commit to meeting preparation, meeting attendance, and post meeting deliverables. 

The ideal makeup of this committee includes young professionals with experience in:

marketing, digital marketing, digital fundraising, social media, major gift program officer, grant writer, copy editor, content writer, graphic design, photography, videography, corporate partnerships, peer-to-peer fundraising, cause marketing, or other professional experience as it relates to marketing or fundraising.

This is a virtual Board of Advisors, we accepted applications from anywhere in the United States and will hold our meetings via video conference.

Requirements:

Time Commitment:
The Marketing & Fundraising Committee will meet for 1-hour every 1st Tuesday of each month at 5pm PST/ 7pm CST/ 8pm EST. The full Board of Advisors will meet Quarterly for 2-hours. Additionally, there are 5-8 hours monthly of committee related tasks.

We also ask that all e-mails are returned within 2 business days to ensure our projects and tasks are moving forward.

Our meetings are mandatory and video must be turned on. Missing more than 2 committee meetings and 1 Board of Advisors meetings per year will result in the removal from the Board of Advisors.

Each meeting will feature an optional creative cocktail with the receipt sent out 1 week prior to the meeting (feel free to bring your drink of choice as well)!

Term limits:
We expect Board of Advisors to commit to serving for 2 years with the option to renew for another 2 years.

Fundraising:
We are a lean organization and depend on our volunteers to help raise funds to complete bedroom transformations for kids fighting cancer. We ask all Board of Advisors to help us reach our fundraising goals. Our fundraising expectations include a $500 minimum give or get per year per year. To reach this you can: 1) Run a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign to raise $500 annually 2) Join monthly giving program at $12/month, get 3 friends to join at $10/month 3) Join monthly giving program at $42/month or 4) Donate $500 annually. Our Executive Director is here to support you and provide the tools and advice you need to reach this goal.

Networking:
As members of the Board of Advisors, we are counting on you to share our mission with your network. We expect you will share all fundraising campaigns via email and social media with family, friends, and peers, as well as post once per month about Designing Dreams on your personal Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn account.

Committee Structure:
There will be a chair or co-chairs for this committee that will set the agenda before the meeting, take notes during the meeting, as well as share the minutes with the committee and set action items after each meeting. The chair/ co-chairs will report to Designing Dream’s Executive Director.
